Update: 24 wks...
Weight: 14st 10.2. BMI: 29.3. Body Fat: 26.5%. Body Water: 51.2%.
Wk 25 Training: Hours: 5:44. Bike: 92.5 k. Work: 3,662 KCal.
Today my BMI dipped under the magic mark of 30. I am now officially no longer regarded as clinically “obese”. I am still clinically “overweight” but that sounds a whole lot better than obese.

This week I lost 5 lbs. Great result – I think a culmination of the last few weeks. The challenge on the weight front is going the get a lot harder in February & March and I need to make sure I stay below 15 stone and work towards the 14 stone mark!!

Fantastic skills, that is a lot of hard work out on the road. Good job to keep it up through the snow and head cold.
You now have a bit of a buffer for 10 days of all inclusive breakfasts. Extra Caribbean Dance Lessons for you next week!
Training. I wish I had but I haven't, although back on the wagon this week. It is incredible the appeal that sausages have when you are feeling a bit under the weather
keep peddling. ben
Good stuff Rich, get yourself a lightweight turbo trainer for the beach, hols no excuse for a break in training!
Very impressed with what you've done so far, keep up the good work - RAAM 2008 here you come!
Matt
Keep up the good blogging work. I can't wait till the next episode.
Good work so far. Have you thought of joining a club to help get those longer training rides in? It certainly helped me last year when I joined London Dynamo - a diet of the Sunday Surrey Hills ride every week helped a lot with my training as it guaranteed me at least 120km every week. I'm doing the Etape again this year after my near failure last year.
Guys,
Cheers for your comments.
Ben - Pleased with my results so far but there is still a way to go... You need to start pounding the streets. Not long now 'til your half Marathon.
Matt - Thinking about getting a Turbo Trainer later this month. I can see it as the only way of replicating those seemingly never-ending Pyrenean climbs. So bring on the "1 hour on - 1 hour off - 1 hour on" turbo intervals...
Anon - the next episode is now here. Enjoy!
Alex - I am thinking of joining a local club. However, wanted to lose a little wight and up my fitness somewhat first. Didn't want to be wheezing away at the back of the bunch 'sucking wheels' before we've left the car park! Hoping that a club run will teach me skills of group riding, etc.
Ric
So impressed with you training and blog efforts. Keep up the good work.
